Studio POETIC CURIOSITY is delighted to announce our participation as an exhibitor at SaloneSatellite 2024, during the globally renowned Salone del Mobile.Milano. This marks our inaugural showcase at the world’s preeminent annual design fair.

SaloneSatellite, the dedicated segment of Salone del Mobile.Milano for selected emerging designers under 35, is celebrated as a pivotal platform for launching the careers of young creatives. This year SaloneSatellite marks its 25^th anniversary.

Building upon the installation unveiled last year, we will reveal our latest series of installations and products, titled ‘Pouring Lights,’ during the event. This series was conceived and developed through our engagement in the ‘SONO AIDA #TOKYO MIDTOWN AWARD‘ residency programme from February to March 2024.

‘Pouring Lights’ utilises densely arranged silk threads, lighted up to craft an ambiance of soft yet intense luminosity, reminiscent of sunbeams piercing through cloud cover. Drawing on the traditional Japanese principles of ‘Ke’ and ‘Hare’, the mundane and the extraordinary, ‘Pouring Lights’ captures the essence of the transition from darkness to light and the serene, gradual transformations of natural sunlight.

The collection includes a distinctive floor lamp, conceptualised as a segment of the larger installation, bringing a unique lighting expression into any space. This piece features an acrylic enclosure treated with an anti-reflective film (MOSMITE^™, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation), ensuring the silk threads appear to float independently.
